- What are YOU saving for?
-
Over the past couple of weeks we've told you stories of the unique ways SmartyPig customers are using the site to save money (here and here). And now it's time to turn the tables. We want to hear from YOU! We want to know what you're saving for and you could win a SmartyPig gift card just by leaving a comment!
Here's how it works:
- Leave a comment in the space below telling us what you're saving money for.
- We'll leave the comments open until Wednesday, May 6th, 12PM CST.
- At that time, we'll put all of the entries into a random number generator to select first, second and third place winners. ($100, $50 and $25, respectively)
Good Luck!

Saving for my honeymoon, but don't plan on stopping there. I love this product's whole concept, ESPECIALLY when it comes to gift giving. Instead of buying something a friend won't like, or just giving them $$, I can deposit something in their accounts and help make a dream/wish come true. Plus I love the branding, LOVE.
Lots of things! My brother's wedding is a destination wedding in a few years, so I'll need some money for that. Also, I know I'll need a new (new to me, anyway!) car at some point down the road, so I'm saving for that. And lots of little things in between.

I just started saving today! I'm going for a round-the-world trip. Could take awhile :)
A few months ago, I examined my life. I had a job, a husband, and was on my way to the traditional life in the suburbs. And I asked myself: Is there anything I would regret if I just let my life continue on as it's going? And the answer was YES. A year of traveling and service. I intended to do this before I got married, but never got around to it. When I brought up this regret to my husband, he said, "Let's do it!" So, we started our Smarty Pig Goal. We want to give a year of our lives to making this world a better place. We want to volunteer, teach, build houses and schools and churches, and most of all, to learn and to build bridges between our world and the rest of the world.
We aren't going as tourists, and we aren't saving to be consumers. We are going to serve and to give.
Thanks for giving us a great vehicle for saving, so we can reach our goal and share it with the world.
Jen and Erik
I'm saving to send my baby son to a great local school. I love the Montessori teaching method, and would like to have the first year's fees up front when he is ready to start.
I'm saving for my daughter's education..She's starting high school in September and it came way too quickly!
Emergency Fund! And possibly a macbook for school =]!
I'm saving for my trip to Cozumel to compete in my first Ironman!! It's this November
I'm saving for a House down payment. I'm also setting up a credit card payoff goal. What debt I have is on 0% interest right now, I might as well be making interest on it as long as they aren't charging me any. Smartypig makes staying out of the money set aside for this purpose much easier.
I'm saving for my birthday trip and a down payment our first house!!!
I'm saving for 1 year's worth of living expenses!
