The Brown Bag Pays

We often talk about cutting back on lunches out or gourmet coffees, but how much do these type of indulgences really cost you? Clark Howard and the Denver Post bring you the facts; the starting $3,600 a year, facts. If you knew skipping one lunch date a week could save you $500 a year would that persuade you to cut back? What about twice a week and $1,000?

Once you get used to cutting back here and there would an average savings of $3,600 persuade you to cut out most all fancy lunches and morning coffee stops? When you consider the effects of placing that $3,600 into a SmartyPig goal, you begin to think twice, don’t you? That’s a nice vacation or down payment on a new car. Maybe it’s just a leg up on holiday and back to shopping. Whatever it is, the minimal effort needed to brew your own cup of Joe and pack a turkey sandwich will have you reaching your goals and receiving the things you really want in no time at all. “Would you rather have the nice coffee or be on a beach somewhere, or touring Europe or skiing out West? It’s your choice,” says Howard.

The choice is easy in our book!

Wishing you successful saving.
