- Customers suggest, SmartyPig listens!
-
We are happy to announce new features to SmartyPig that came from a couple suggestions our customers made over the past few months. The first is being able to see quickly how much money is currently in all your SmartyPig goals as well as seeing the total monthly contributions scheduled across all your goals for the current month. And for each goal you have, a quick snapshot of the amount you have saved and the total goal amount.
And second, we've updated our "Features" page in the "About Us" section of the site to included a number of videos providing an in-depth look at some of the many unique features of SmartyPig.
Hope you are enjoying saving with SmartyPig. Please let us know your thoughts and if there is anything else you'd like to see on the pig.

Awesome! I have been using SmartyPig for about three months now and love it. The main reason I actually use it is so that there is an extra step to withdraw my saved money. A savings account in a bank gives way under 3% interest currently and also it is way to easy to transfer and spend money. SmartyPig adds an extra step and I know that I won't spend the money once it is in SmartyPig and will have it in case of an emergency. Keep up the good work!
Nice! Id REALLY like to see bi-monthly contributions!!!

You're welcome Smarty Pig! I expect my 'consultant fee' will be deposited shortly in my account? ;o)
The new features are really nice. Still wishing that we could have bi monthly or weekly contributions as well.
Thanks for finally adding an option to void deposits before they go through. The automatic monthly deposits made me overdraft my bank account once :(
I'd also like to see if you could schedule payments on like a little calendar, to mark what days of the month you want a deposit to come out. Like, if you had 2 jobs and get paid every week Monday at 1 job, and every other friday at another job, you could select the days you get paid on the calendar in a month.
And one more thing, could you please make it so that you don't have to have the once a month contribution for funds going to your account? I'd like to choose when my money goes in. I can't predict if there's going to be money in my bank account for SmartyPig to withdraw on that date next month. Especially with cell phone bills, car insurance, yada yada. I'd like to not have to worry about going into my SmartyPig and changing the withdraw date every time it gets close to that date again. I wish you could just save to save as you acquire extra money.
Thanks for reading!
Bi weekly deductions would be nice. Also an one time funding . thanks.
What would be really cool is if smartypig could publish some kind of roadmap to let us know what features you guys were working on. Not sure if that would be possible but the community would sure appreciate it!
I'm saving for downpayment of a house, you have no such options...........
Mint compatibility
mint compatibility is a must for me too. so far my mint can't seem to connect with smartypig.
@sean & @kc,
We are ready to roll out Mint integration but we are waiting on Yodlee to enter the pig into their system. Help us expedite our request to Yodlee! We tweeted about it here:

love the site! it would be nice if there could be joint goals where both owners can have automatic monthly contributions and see the goal in their own accounts. i'm trying to save for a trip with my boyfriend but it seems the only way we can do that now is if i add him as the co-owner on the goal and then he has to put in money manually every month. please consider this! and it would be nice if when it was calculating the monthly contribution, it could split it in two. thanks!!!
also...is there a way for just my smartypig friends to see my goals opposed to anyone who knows my email address?
i love this site!!! i already have 2 goals set up. can you change your contribution date so that all accounts are not drafted the same day.i like the comment about biweekly contributions also
@Sue in SC,
Thanks! Presently the way to accomplish this would be to create a new funding source with a different drafting day and assign this new funding source to your goal. In the near future, we will be implementing biweekly contributions as well as allowing users to tie the date of the withdrawal to the goal itself as opposed to the funding source.
Thanks again!

How can I add a 2nd new funding source to my smartypig
manage--add money page?------thanks
@Dave,
Click on "manage" next to your savings account. Then click on "manage" in the upper right next to your funding source to add a new funding source to your account.
Thanks!

It´s nice to see a company listening to it´s customers for a change. Possible feature suggestion: letting multiple people (e.g. husband and wife, group) save towards a shared goal? Might have trouble with money laundering regulations, hmm. Not sure if I'd use that feature, but I expect some would.
