The process is simple, the reward large, and both new and existing customers are eligible. The contest officially begins this morning, July 18, 2011, at 10 AM CT and will remain open until August 15, 2011, at 8 AM CT. SmartyPig will randomly choose 20 winners to each bring home $100! Five winners will be chosen each day on Monday the 15^th, Tuesday the 16^th, Wednesday the 17^th, and Thursday the 18^th.  And the best part? Those 20 winners will then be entered to win one grand prize of $1,000 on Friday, August 19, 2011!

How do I enter? It’s easy…

1. New and existing users must add a NEW goal under the NEW category, “Back to School”.
2. Follow the instructions to set up and activate your new SmartyPig goal.
3. Enter your qualified checking or savings account from your credit union or bank.
4. All SmartyPig goals require a minimum initial deposit of $25. This is NOT an entrance fee to be included in the contest. Remember you are earning a competitive interest rate, up to 14% cash back at many retailers, and you always have the option to redeem the $25 + interest earned back to your checking or savings account at any time.
5. Follow each step closely as failure to complete all steps will disqualify you from the contest.

Want to increase your chances of winning? You can complete up to five of the social and sharing features offered by SmartyPig below.

1. Mention SmartyPig on your blog and email the link to SFoss@SmartyPig.com from the email address attached to your SmartyPig profile.
2. Tweet about your entrance into the contest and include @SmartyPig.
3. Comment on SmartyPig’s Facebook page or tag SmartyPig in a status update about your contest participation.
4. Share your goal – When creating your back to school goal, elect to accept contributions from your friends and family.
5. Accept Contribution – If you accept a gift or contribution from a friend or family member to your back to school goal.

You may Blog/Tweet/Facebook post about SmartyPig as much as you like – but only ONE blog, ONE Tweet, and ONE Facebook post will be counted. For instance you may tweet about us until the cows come home, say 300 times, but only ONE of those tweets will gain you an extra entry. Your Twitter username and name showing on your Facebook post will be entered in the contest. These items must be posted/emailed by August 14, 2011. The same policy goes for sharing and accepting donations, only one per user will be counted as additional entry.

If a Tweet or Facebook post are selected as a winner, you will be contacted via the same medium you entered to verify both your identity and make sure all entry requirements were met. For instance, if you tweet, SmartyPig will send you a direct message on Twitter asking you to email us to confirm your goal. If you use Facebook, SmartyPig will respond to your post. You must return SmartyPig’s contact from the email address attached to your SmartyPig account that same day by the required deadline to win..
